My Testimony

I know that I have Heavenly parents who love me. My Heavenly Father has a wonderful plan, which allows us to come to Earth and learn and grow through our mortal experiences. We lived with him and our Heavenly Mother, as spirits, before we came to this world. He sent us here to experience mortality and learn and grow, which we could do in no other way. He gave us agency, which is the freedom to choose. He knew we would make mistakes, so he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins. Christ's atonement also covers our pains and sorrows. He experienced ALL that we have or will ever experience, so that he would know how to help us, no matter what we may be going through. I testify that Jesus Christ is our savior and he LIVES and because he lives, I know that I will continue to live after this life and the same is true for everyone.

I know that Joseph Smith restored the church that our savior established when he was on the earth. He saw our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, in a vision. By this, we know that our Father in heaven has a body of flesh and bones (although immortal) and our savior is a separate being, who also has a body of flesh and bones. I know that Joseph Smith was given a charge and the power to translate ancient records, which gave us the Book of Mormon. Reading the Book of Mormon has helped me to better understand my savior and has changed my life.
